Mocha Brownies Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Brownies:

  • 1 (19.8 ounce) package Brownie Mix
  •  ½ cup Water
  •  ¼ cup Vegetable Oil
  •  1 Egg
  • 2 tsp Instant Coffee Granules
  •  1 tsp Vanilla Extract

For the Filling:

  • ¼ cup Butter (softened)
  •  ½ cup Brown Sugar
  •  1 Egg
  •  2 tsp Instant Coffee Granules
  •  1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  •  1 cup chopped Walnuts
  •  ¾ cup semisweet Chocolate Chips

For the Icing:

  • ½ cup semisweet Chocolate Chips
  •  1 tbsp Butter
  •  ¼ tsp Instant Coffee Granules
  •  1 tsp Milk

How to make Mocha Brownies:

  • Mix well all the brownie ingredients in a large bowl and beat thoroughly.
  • Pour into a buttered 13x9x2 inch baking pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-35 minutes, until a toothpaste inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Meanwhile, beat butter with brown sugar, until creamy and light.
  • Add egg, coffee and vanilla. Mix well.
  • Add walnuts and chocolate chips. Stir.
  • Remove the baked brownie mixture from the oven and spread the filling.
  • Bake again at 350 degrees for 17 minutes.
  • Melt butter and chocolate chips in a pan on low heat, stirring continuously.
  • Combine coffee and milk together in a separate bowl.
  • Add to the chocolate-butter mix. Stir until it thickens.
  • Remove the brownies and cool for 3-4 minutes.
  • Thereafter, pour the melted syrup over the brownies.
  • Allow the brownies to cool completely.
  • Cut into squares and serve.
